A Club with Standards
In recognition of our efforts to improve the standards of the club, Leominster Minors Football Club has received the Football Association Charter Standard award.
The Football Association is working hard to develop the quality of grassroots football – after all, just about every player will pass through a club like this at some stage in their footballing careers. It is so important that we get the experience right – one where we try hard to ensure that as many players participate, can achieve whatever level of quality they can; and enjoy the experience so that they go on to play sport later in life – and keep themselves fit and healthy.
The FA Charter Standard Programme provides recognition that clubs are well run and sustainable, with child protection and safety paramount. It also recognises a club's commitment to coaching, player and coach development, and the raising of standards of behaviour in the game - all of which are big priorities for the FA.
Our club has responded to these demands by producing a
- Parents’ information pack
- Managers’ pack
- Training for all our coaches and managers in child protection, first aid and coaching
- Having a clear set of policies and practice that puts the welfare of children first
However, our work is not finished; the award is only given for three years at a time, so we want to continue to build our club to benefit more local young people who want to enjoy their football.
