Under 9's Reach Final
Minors Earn Edgar Street Final Appearance
Olly Summers, Manager of the Under 9's on a memorable day for Minors.
Leominster Minors Under 9’s attended the League Festival at Westfields yesterday morning knowing the reward for Victory would be a place in the Final at Edgar Street and allow them to defend their Cup Won last year at the same venue.
A very bright start against last years fellow finalists Fownhope saw Minors dominate play and do everything but Score, a Nil all draw not doing justice to the run of play throughout the 12 minute game.
Second game saw Minors take on Jamie Pitmans Pegasus Juniors, Tom Griffiths finishing expertly from a great piece of wing play from Harrison Summers with Harrison himself then getting on the Score Sheet to make the final Score 2-nil
Third Game versus Lads Club Cheetahs finished 3-Nil Captain Cameron Stewart popping up on the back post to slot in an excellent Charlie Price Cross from the wing, Harrison Summers scoring after picking the ball up in midfield and running at the defence and finishing well, Kai Barnett finished the game off with another of his dangerous corners causing the defence to deflect into their own net. The 3 scorers then rested at 3-nil with Connor Stewart, Evan Harris and Joseph Beddoes taking to the field to see out the game
Fourth Game versus Lads Club Rangers ended 1- nil Harrison Summers scoring the goal finishing an excellent passage of passing play from Kai Barnett and Tom Griffiths, a special mention to the defence for the Clean Sheet and solid display, Filip Fidyk, Kai Barnett, Jo Bufton and Goalkeeper Aaron Warner.
Needing just a draw in the final game to reach the final saw Minors taking on a very good LC Galaxy side, a hard fought game ensued and was decided in the final minutes when Harrison Summers pinched a Goal Kick from the defence, although originally failing to beat the keeper he managed to put it in from a tight angle second time around, another sturdy game from the defence steadfast all day not conceding once allowing a 1-nil win to finish the day off.
Edgar Street and Fownhope in the Final awaits Leominster Minors 2003/2004 for the second year running…… see you there!!
